The mysterious Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper
Jack the ripper was the first modern serial killer. Over ten weeks in the autumn of 1898 he murdered five women and the police couldn't catch him. Until now, the facts of the case were buried by conspiracy theory and myth. In short, the case of Jack the Ripper is unfinished business.

He was known to his inhuman killing, not only killing them, he's mutilating them and leaving their dead body publicly displayed. Provided by vague evidence, the vulnerability of the victims and the way they live were common.

The police of 1898 tried their best to hunt the Ripper, but because he was the first of his kind, the police had a hard time catching him.

Over the decades more than 200 suspects were being named and to hunt the Ripper has begun again. Dozens of solutions are being offered until no one conclusively proves who the Ripper was.

Jack the Ripper with his victim
The canonical five are Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes and Mary Jane Kelly. All five victims lived in the place where ruled by poverty and alcohol and known as the toughest area in London. In fact, they all lived and die with the only single square mile.

The 1st victim was 43 year old woman Mary Ann Nichols. She had adult children separated from her husband, no permanent home and often on the streets. She was an alcoholic. Her sexual organ was mutilated. The truth is, she wasn't raped, but the nature and the intensity of the attack tells about the killer's state of mind. Her death marks the beginning of the ultimate terror.

Nine days after the first victim found, it was half a mile away and another dead body found. Her name was Annie Chapman.

"The head was six inches in front of the bottom step. The left arm lay across the left breast. The legs were drawn up. Feet resting on the ground and the knees turned outward. Part of the uterus is missing, her intestine were drawn up over her left shoulder. "

Everyone who looks the body was afraid as if they wanted to run away.

After three weeks, the body of Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes were found at not too separate time at the same day it was called, the "Double Event". When Stride's body was found, it was killed five minutes ago and still bleeding. There was no mutilation. Therefore, he was interrupted and forced look for another victim. He found Eddowes and spent more time with her then killed her. This time she suffered the worst degradation than any of the previous victims.

One week later a letter arrived received by George Lusk. He was chairman of the White Chapel vigilante's committee, a group of local man who patrol the streets trying to catch the ripper. The letter was headed "From Hell" it came with half of human kidney.

The Newspaper and Police received hundreds of Hoax messages claiming to be from the killer. But none of them had the credibility that these letters are real.

But the letter received by Lusk is more credible because Eddowes kidney is also missing. The letter also revealed that the author is less educated person for some of the words like "knif" and "whil" lacks with "e".

The last victim was a pretty and young woman, Mary Jane Kelly. She is the only one of the Ripper's victim with permanent address and killed from the inside. What he did to her was perhaps the most extreme violence that is possible to inflict to a human body. This describe as "the work of the devil".

"The face is unrecognized. The nose, cheeks, eyebrows and ears were harshly removed. Both breasts have been removed by more or less circular incision. The heart is absent."
Most ripper expert says that this is the last murder. For reason that are never been explained, Jack stopped.

Experts came up with these conclusions: He is interested in people's reaction and the impact of what he did. It really takes him intense psychological drive to inflict this much damage to the victims. Three steps he did are controlling, killing and mutilating. He didn't kill by cutting, he killed in order to cut.

Why the ripper chose White Chapel as his killing ground? Why did he choose Mary Ann Nichols for his 1st victim? Is he someone who came from outside the white chapel just to hunt and kill women? Or was he was commoner attacking within his own community?

Jack the Ripper was probably dead. But this mysterious person keeps us on being Mysterified.
